I’ve been asked this question a lot. Do you only do technical resumes?

The answer is yes and no.  I started out thinking I would be working mostly with engineers and PMs in the technology space where I’d spent most of my recruiting career. Hence, the name “Technicalresumewriter.com”.  It has been my incredible good fortune to have been referred to many of my clients’ friends and coworkers and that has rapidly expanded my scope to include Sales, Marketing, HR, PMs, and senior & executive management. I’m still mostly in the technology sector, doing resumes, LinkedIn profiles and executive bios.

I don’t work with clinical medical professionals, legal folks, accounting people, educators and areas where I’m not comfortable understanding the details of what they do. I do some pro bono work with military vets who are transitioning out into the civilian world.

Writing a resume means creating a powerful story that gets a hiring manager’s attention. It’s your story. I can’t, in good faith, charge you to write your story if I don’t understand what you do. It wouldn’t be right.
